Join two industry specialists for a comprehensive look at building life-safety systems. This training covers the design, installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of fire and smoke dampers, along with the fundamentals of stairwell pressurization and smoke control. Attendees will gain practical insight into applicable codes, performance requirements, system operation, and common design and installation challenges that impact life-safety compliance and occupant protection.
Upon completion of this training, attendees will be able to:
- Understand the codes and standards governing damper and stairwell pressurization systems.
- Identify the functions and applications of fire, smoke, and combination fire/smoke dampers.
- Explain how stairwell pressurization supports safe occupant egress.
- Recognize critical design, installation, and maintenance requirements.
- Identify common system deficiencies and strategies to improve performance and compliance.
